The Mental Benefits of Pool



Most strategic games like Chess and Checkers utilize only the left side of the brain, which is the logical and rational portion of the brain. Pool utilizes both the left and right side of the brain. The left, rational side of the brain is used during position play.The right, artistic side of the brain is used for the recognition of patterns. The combination of the two brain hemispheres is what allows you to run out a table. Pool also trains the Kinesthetic or movement portion of your brain-the Cerebellum, which is responsible for balance, muscle memory, and hand eye coordination.

Pool is a great way to build rational, methodical processing as well as visual processing. It's an excellent way to keep your brain healthy and prevent cognitive decay or senility during old age. Just think, no other sport utilizes both brain hemispheres as well as the cerebellum. Forget Sudoku, Pool is the best way to build brainpower.
